Encrypted Disk 3.0

Privacy protection is an important issue in the modern world. Every day we experience a number of threats to our private life and private information. Can we protect ourselves? Do we have the right to decide what our private information must never be disclosed? Are there any technical means to tackle the problem? - We can answer "Yes" to all these questions. Paragon Encrypted Disk 3.0 is exactly intended to ease the pressure on your private life by closely guarding your private information.

Encrypted Disk 3.0 is a set of system drivers, plug-ins, wizards and utilities to store your data in an encrypted form but use these data in a common way as if they are not encrypted. This software is intended for people who want to have their important information encrypted but do not have enough time to study cryptography.

How to Use

You can have on your computer any number of encrypted disks. Each encrypted disk has two states: mounted and unmounted. When mounted (that means active or at work, with a drive letter assigned to it), an encrypted disk is like any usual local disk with its own file system. You can copy folders and files to and from it, create and edit files there by any program. The only difference is that the whole disk is totally encrypted. But this fact does not disturb you as encryption/decryption operations are absolutely transparent to the user. Encryption and decryption are performed on the fly by our special system drivers.

When you unmount the encrypted disk, there will be no access to its contents any more. It is just a file (a container file or so called "image file"). You can write a container file to any compact media (e.g. a CD/DVD, a USB flash memory drive etc) and always carry the encrypted disk with you. If the worst has happened and you have lost it, there will be no sense in worrying about it too much. Whoever has found it, they will not be able to gain access to your data without your password or external key because all the data are safely encrypted.

Wizards included in the program help you easily create encrypted disks and re-encrypt them later using other algorithms or just changing their encryption keys. You can perform the majority of operations on encrypted disks through the Windows System Tray or the Windows Explorer with the help of our special plug-ins. If you have a considerable number of encrypted disks, you can organize them in a convenient way by using our special utility called ED Manager.

You may have up to 23 encrypted disks mounted at the same time. If you see that someone wants to violate your privacy and try to get access to your computer by force, you can unmount all the disks at once. The violator will not know anything.
